How we use cookies

In common with many websites the Walkingworld website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files saved onto your computer (or other device you are using to access the website) that can be read by the website during your current visit or when you come back later.

Cookies help to make the interaction between users and websites faster and easier. For example, they can remember your login details or preferences. What cookies don't do is store any personal or confidential information about you. They can’t look into your computer or read any personal information or other material on your hard drive. Cookies can’t carry viruses or install anything harmful on your computer.

We are obliged to tell you how we use cookies. The information is in the 'Terms & conditions' for the website which Walkingworld members agree to when they join. The relevant section about cookies is as follows (it can be found at the bottom of the 'Terms & conditions'):

We may also store information about you using cookies (files which are sent by us to your computer or other access device) which we can access when you visit our site. We do this to enable you to log in to the site automatically (should you have chosen the 'Remember Me' option), to track the impressions and click-throughs on banner advertisements and for general web analytics. Cookies may also be placed by some 3rd party advertisers whose banner advertisements we host. With our own banner advertisement system and web analytics tools individual users are not identified, and we do not pass information about you to 3rd party advertisers.

If you want to delete any cookies that are already on your computer, please refer to the instructions for your file management software to locate the file or directory that stores cookies.

Information on deleting or controlling cookies is available at Please note that by deleting our cookies or disabling future cookies you may not be able to access certain areas or features of our site.

If you have any queries about our use of cookies please do not hesitate to get in touch.
