Slochd Summit - Carrbridge
|
Walk
ID: 979 |
Most of this walk is across open moorland, only the last part being in forest; so there are lots of good views. Most of the route has been upgraded to accommodate bicycles, making for easy walking. The crossing of the River Dulnain is by a striking example of General Wade's bridge-building skills; and at Carrbridge a second, smaller bridge is a Mecca for cameras and paintbrushes. To shorten the walk by 1.5 miles, leave the route at Waymark 07 and walk along the tarred road to Waymark 17. A family walk; boots recommended. Food, beverages and toilets are available in Carrbridge.

19/05/07 - Kevin Gruer :
This is a gem of a walk. We made this a circular walk by returning from Carrbridge to Slochd via Bogroy and Dalrachney Beag, joining the original route again at Sluggan Bridge.
