Glenmulliach Forest Walk and Nature Trail
|
Walk
ID: 859 |
This walk is easily accessible to people staying in Tomintoul or if you are motoring between Grantown and Braemar. You can walk up to the viewpoint on Breac Leathad(588m) and back in a bit over an hour; but if you take in the nature trail en route you should allow two hours. The track is good all the way (parts of the nature trail can be muddy). You start through forest, then the upper half of the walk is across open heather moorland. Lots of information about trees, plants and wildlife may be found at the information point at the car park. Most people go to the viewpoint only, but why not go on to the top? (Pity about the mast, they're everywhere). There are panoramic views to the Cairngorms etc.
