This coastal walk takes in part of the rugged headland by Culzean Castle (a National Trust for Scotland property). Starting outside the park boundaries at Croy Shore, the walk takes you along the coast to reach the castle. This can be seen from a long distance away, sitting high up on the headland with its impressive vantage point. Having passed through the ornamental gardens of the castle, the walk continues back down onto the shore. As some of the bays are very rocky (and under water at high tide), the walk turns inland to take in the cliff walk within the park boundaries. This path has magnificent views to the west and south - on a good day both the Mull of Kintyre and Northern Ireland can be seen from the section of path (not to mention the nearer island of Arran). The walk can easily be altered to become a circular one, should this be preferred. Once you reach the swan pond in Culzean Country Park (Waymark 14) take any of the paths signposted towards the Home Farm, then return along the coast.
