Lewes Circular Walk

Walk ID: 755

This walk around Lewes takes you past many of the best-known landmarks in East Sussex's historic county town. Starting from the railway station, the circular route first heads towards Cliffe High Street and the old bridge across the Ouse. You then return along the High Street past the town hall to the peace and tranquillity of Pells Pools. Returning to the town centre past Lewes Castle, you head for Keere Street, which leads to The Grange, with its peaceful gardens and Anne of Cleves' House. The last part of the walk passes the ruined Lewes Priory.

09/06/01 - Matthew Mayer : Although the map looks rather crowded with numbers, the instructions are pretty foolproof so you shouldn't have any problems finding your way around. Have fun!

06/07/07 - Simon Horner : MAke sure you are wearing walking boots or wellies if you this walk after rain... the footpath next to the Ouse was very muddy when we went. Very clear instructions.
