Midhurst Area - Stedham - Trotton - Iping
|
Walk
ID: 4276 |
A circular walk through heathland (nature reserve), woodland and farmland alongside a riverbank, with a good variety of plant and animal life. Near the end it also passes through part of the very pleasant, quiet, beautifully maintained village of Stedham. For those who want to explore a little more, it is possible to 'hop over the bridges' at Trotton and Iping to explore the old villages (St George's Church at Trotton, just a few hundred yards off the route, is about 1,000 years old and has famous wall paintings from c1380).
It also passes by one good pub (with garden) and very near another.

05/09/09 - Helena Pugsley :
A pleasant stroll, not very strenuous and took us around 2 hours. At the start of the walk across the heathland it is quite difficult to work out exactly what path we were supposed to be on and I think we may have slightly missed a step by going a slightly different route but it didn't really matter. Pretty with the heather out at this time of year, but no stunning views like some of the other walks in this area.
