A circular walk, with moderate climbs which provide wonderful views to both the north and south, it passes by a restored Tudor chapel and leads down the hill to the rare remains of a Carthusian monastery. After this it's back up the hill to proceed along the edge of the Cleveland escarpment to pass the BT microwave station. Then the walk crosses Scarth Wood Moor to return via Cod Beck Reservoir.

This is a lovely walk. We did this on a lovely sunny day so there were no muddy sections as it hadn't rained for days. It is quite varied & the up hill bits are not too bad. However, Mount Grace Priory is well worth a visit but, bare in mind, that it is a fair walk downhill, but after your visit, there is no alternative but to walk back up the hill. Saying that, as long as you don't eat too much picnic at the Priory, you should be ok. Osmotherley has some nice tea shops & pubs.

I can recommend The Three Tuns in Osmotherley, especially for its outstanding food.

Great walk. Im a beginner so not too hard but not easy either! Took 3 hours.
