Vins-sur-Caramy - Haut Lieu de la Resistance
|
Walk
ID: 3740 |
This walk starts in the small car park by the bridge below the Chateaux at Vins-sur-Caramy. It takes you onto the wooded slopes south of the river where, towards the end of World War II, four resistance fighters were parachuted to help prepare for the liberation of the area. Tragically they were all murdered and their bodies found just 21 days before the liberation of Bringnoles. Three of the four were a father and his two sons, the youngest of whom, Louis Morzzone, was a poet. The walk takes you to the hideout cave where their bodies were found and you visit the graves near the bridge where they are all now buried.
