Ebury Hill - Uffington - Haughmond Abbey

Walk ID: 3374

This is a lovely walk in Shropshire, much of it on woodland paths. Starting from the entrance to Ebury Hill Camping and Caravanning Park, the route visits the small village of Uffington and briefly wanders round part of it. A short stretch of road-walking on the return journey leads to the Haughnond Abbey entrance and encircles the whole site before leaving it on a woodland path to go back to Ebury Hill.

21/04/08 - Walkingworld Administrator : I haven't been here myself so perhaps someone could confirm this for us. At SJ 53301 14798 the map shows a footpath crossing the B5062 and after 320m there is a footpath to the right running parallel to the road. Although adding a few hundred metres to the route between wms 7 and 8, if possible it is off road at least. The footpath shown appears to take the walker to wm 10 but thanks to the Shropshire Way between here and wm 8 you can still circle the abbey.

20/04/08 - karl noon : Suggestion about the walk, when you reach section seven I would advise that you (back at Uffington Gate) retrace your steps and go back through the woods and not on the road which is very long and straight and has extremley fast traffic (dangerous) as there is only a narrow grass verge to walk along. Apart from this the walk is ok.
