Culbin Forest Walk 2

Walk ID: 3367

The forest, planted to 'fix' the sand-dunes (see Additional Info'), extends for 14km along the Moray coast. In it you may see roe deer, red squirrels, crested tits, crossbills and if you are lucky, badgers, pine martens and wildcats. It is designated as a SSSI because of its rich variety of plants (over 130 species of lichens), wildlife and its acreage of dunes. The forest is a very open one, giving no sense of being shut in and with lots of picnic spots. The beach, giving views to Ross and Sutherland, enables picnics, swimming and beachcombing.
