Black and White Meldon

Walk ID: 2569

A bonny wee walk (as we emigré English say) of only about three-and-a-half miles; but don't knock it, it's a good pipe-opener fully meriting its 'moderate' tag, ascending as it does three summits, including both Black and White Meldon. This short but energetic walk also crosses two burns and two fences and climbs an unnamed hill, which I have forborne to christen 'Mount Brotherton' for fear of unseemly ribaldry; instead I refer to it in the text as 'Summit Two'. Traces may be found of Iron Age forts on both Meldons.

07/05/07 - Angela Murray : We went this walk on Saturday and had a lovely day. The walk was quite strenious (we are beginners) on the legs, going up one hill was hard, but up the second was worse!! Great fun though and some lovely views. Map and directions on this site were spot on.
