The Stiperstones
|
Walk
ID: 2540 |
The walk starts from The Bog, an area which even fifty years ago still had some fading signs of the intense industrial activity of Victorian days. Although the start is relatively high, the walk drops down to Stiperstones Village with its comfortable inn, before a steep climb up a deep valley. A short cut avoiding the descent and climb (but also the inn) is suggested. The climax of the walk is the broad ridge with its rocky quartz tors, including the Devil's Chair. From here the views are remarkable - some New Zealanders I met on top raved about it and quite right too.
