Aracena - Corteconcepcion circuit
|
Walk
ID: 2273 |
This walk is an easy introduction to walking in the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche region. Starting from Aracena the first part of the walk is along farm tracks through gently rolling countryside then descending on rural pathways to the pretty village of Corteconcepcion. The return on cobbled paths between ancient stonewalls is through olive and oak/chestnut dehesa, cultivated forest fields, where the black pigs for which the region is truly famous happily root around. Iberian pork and Jubago ham are reckoned to be the best in the world and there is no better place to sample them than in the region where it is produced.
