Algeciras (Los Arcos del Cobre) - Rio Miel Walk
|
Walk
ID: 2207 |
The walk starts in Los Arcos del Cobre on the south-west corner of Algeciras and follows the start of the ancient Roman route to Media Sidonia as it climbs up the Rio Miel Valley. The upper part of the route is very pretty, passing numerous waterfalls and rock pools much frequented in the summer by local youths taking advantage of the cool mountain waters. The route can be terminated at the first large waterfall at Waypoint 06, or extended for those prepared to scramble up the side of the waterfall and cross the river to discover more waterfalls and pools higher up the valley.
