Pitlochry - Ben Vrackie
|
Walk
ID: 2104 |
This is a hard climb, gaining 640 metres over only four kilometres, though navigation is easy with little chance of error. Consideration must be given to the weather when attempting this walk, due to the height; even in summer sudden changes or even heat exhaustion can be factors. The path is well marked from the car park near Moulin and considerable work is ongoing to repair erosion on the high path after Loch a Choire. A shorter version of the walk to Loch a Choire is well worth while.
This is a designated path with signs, a car park and information boards.

18/02/04 - Iain C. Ross :
This walk is well worth the effort especially on a clear day as the views at the top are stunning. The last climb from the loch is indeed steep! A well deserved pint can be had at the nearby Moulin Inn when you have completed the walk!
