This walk from the little village of Carsluith in the old Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, climbs gently onto moorland, giving extensive views over the Cree Estuary and Solway Firth, visits a cairn and the old kirkyard at the abandoned settlement of Kirkmabreck and descends across farmland back to Carsluith via a smokehouse.
Nearby lies Carsluith Castle, a 16th Century L-shaped tower house, in the care of Scottish Heritage.
