My Navman made it 6.75 km. Building at point 3 is now a gallery and the toilets aren't open in winter, but there are some that are at the far end of Silversands Bay. Good to do this walk when the trees are bare and then you get sea views all the way between point 9 and 11.

Very enjoyable walk; I definitely recommend taking the detour up to the cliff top for a great view of Arthur's Seat across the Forth. Word of warning at Point 9 - the steps are STEEP and if you have stumpy legs like me, you will be bent double and scrambling.

This is an excellent and varied walk which is, as the main page suggests, good for kids - more than enough to keep them interested. Two points worth noting. First, according to my GPS the walk is slightly longer than suggested - more like 4.3 miles (6.9 km). Second, if you take the second option at point 4, it is easy to miss the waymarker and end up at a deadend. As you follow the path and come to some houses, look to the left and climb the path with steps which will take you up the top of the cliffs and some splendid views.

Good walk for a hot day; plenty of shade. Watch out for seals basking on the rocks. Toilets at harbour are permanently closed, there are more at Silversands.
