Explore Abernethy - Puggy Line Trail
|
Walk
ID: 1382 |
The walk commences at Nethy Bridge Community Centre and follows village lanes past traditional cottages and gardens, then takes the Tulloch road into the heart of Abernethy Forest. The footpath takes you through commercial plantations recently felled to provide for the re-growth of native pine trees, then on into old mature Scots pine woodland before opening out into marshland and open moorland with footbridges - a great place to spot birds of prey circling above. The trail once again returns to the mature pine woodland on the way back to the community centre, rich in finches and tits, red squirrels and roe deer.
Dogs may be taken on this walk but it is NOT suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
