Peterculter - Drumoak
|
Walk
ID: 1256 |
Starting at Peterculter (Culter) this walk starts on the course of the former Deeside Railway line. After leaving Culter, it passes through rural landscape and then follows a stretch on narrow country lanes before entering the lands of Drum Castle. Tree-lined paths lead to Drum Castle, which is a National Trust property and is open from Easter to October, although access to the grounds is available all year round. The gardens of the castle have been restored to display historic roses over the centuries. Beyond the castle, the route then reaches a tarred road that leads to the A93, which is served by a regular bus service back to Culter.
