A lovely walk, which takes in one of the most picturesque riverside sections of the Dales Way. Our route crosses beautiful fields and meadows with wonderful views right from the start. An undemanding walk which should take no more than four hours at a steady pace, but do allow some time to explore the delightful villages of Burnsall and Linton and make this a truly enjoyable family day out. The film buffs amongst you will no doubt recognise the riverside location in Burnsall where the 'Marks & Spencer's Cake' scene in Calendar Girls was shot. You can sit on the same wooden seat on the green beside the bridge and enjoy the view.

Put a small towel in your rucksack - if it's a sunny day you'll be tempted to paddle.

The historic market town of Grassington with its many tea rooms, hotels and inns, is probably best visited at the end of your walk.

Instructions were spot on. However be aware that there are 20 stiles from Burnsall to Thorpe.

Did this walk on Saturday,30th March 2019. We like to walk, but usually manage to take at least one wrong turn. However the description for this walk was spot on. Would recommend it. S. Gray

There are many stiles, some very high, some with awkward gates on top, so it can be a two-man job to get the four-legged friend over. However, my basset managed it and it is still a really nice walk.

As others have said this is a lovely walk. We recorded the mileage as 7.7 rather than the advertised 6.8.

Excellent walk with some stunning views. Linton looked fantastic bathed in sunshine. I got some beautiful photos of the surrounding countryside.

Many thanks for this beautiful walk. We stay in Threshfield and do the walk in reverse starting from the Skipton road and crossing the fields to Burnsall. The walk along the Wharfe makes a lovely afternoon stroll. Then, it's into Grassington for afternoon tea and a handy bus from The Square back to Threshfield. Heaven!

Delightful walk in a beautiful area of Yorkshire.

We started this walk from Hebden 1.5 miles from Grassington on the B6265. It comprises a wide main street ideal for parking. Pass the Old School Tea Room, park on the left hand side and follow the finger post to the Hebden Suspension bridge (indicates half a mile but took us only 13 minutes) which joins the route at point 5. Only downside is the lack of toilets at the start but would definitely recommend this route. The whole walk is very enjoyable, especially for youngsters and non driving drinkers!

A lovely family walk, our 6 and 7 year olds really enjoyed it.

We would highly recommend this walk, great scenery, a lovely riverside section and beautiful villages.

Many thanks to the Fishlocks for this excellent walk, which has now replaced Walk 2536 as my wife's favourite.
