The coastal walk described follows a picturesque section of coast, but even more impressive coastal scenery can be found on the north-facing section of coast beyond the lighthouse. With very little extra effort, the route can be extended along this section of coast to Sinclair and Girnigoe castles, before rejoining the route described at the road end.
