Mevagissey and the Lost Gardens of Heligan
|
Walk
ID: 1512 |
Starting this walk at Heligan has several advantages - there is a long, slow descent to get you warmed up and the parking is free! You can also stop off in Mevagissey for a drink or a snack. After that you will be ready to tackle the coastal path and the climb up from the coast. The walk, like many on the Cornish coast, offers a mixture of terrain in a very short distance while the climbs tend to be short and not too tiring. Away from the coast the paths are not walked as frequently and may be more overgrown - do this walk and help to put that right.

28/05/03 - Ernie Anderson :
I did this walk last weekend and had a problem.
At Waymark 14 the second gate had barbed wire across it and also the path at the side ot it.
I was able to retrace my steps and by using the road could rejoin the walk at Waymark 18.

Message from the local footpaths officer:
Dear Mr Stewart,
Further to your email about footpath 91 in the parish of St Austell, I can confirm that a Ranger has been out to see it and the barbed wire is no longer there.
Yours sincerely
Tony Garvin
