Sant Elm - Pas Vermell - Coll Des Vent - Port D'Andratx
|
Walk
ID: 3446 |
Between the little seaside resort of Sant Elm and fashionable Port D'Andratx lies a broad uninhabited valley flanked by ridges rising to over 300 metres. On this walk we climb to the ridge line and then follow a contour path round the rim of the valley, enjoying open views across an unspoiled landscape to the sea beyond.
To reach the ridge, at Pas Vermell, we climb from Sant Elm along well-graded tracks, passing through a narrow and secluded valley and then up a steepish dirt path to the pass and some outstanding natural viewpoints. From here, we can see the mountains to the north and east, the whole of the island of Dragonera beyond Sant Elm and some of the coastline swinging southerly and easterly towards Palma Bay.
The descent into Port D'Andratx is mostly down a narrow woodland path, with occasional glimpses of its picturesque harbour and marina through the trees. At the end of the walk, there are lots of places for refreshment in the town itself, including harbourside bars and restaurants.
