Over four thousand walks!

Welcome to Walkingworld, the fantastic online resource for all British walkers. Here you can find over 4500 routes, contributed by more than 300 walkers from all round the country. The walks come in a unique format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map (view PDF of a typical walk).

Find a Walk by clicking on the map or entering a postcode or grid reference to see walks within 50 miles of that point. Most of the walks are in Britain but there’s a growing collection in Spain and France, perfect destinations for a quick getaway.

An annual subscription of £17.45 gives you unlimited access to all the walks. You can print them out, make them into PDFs to view when you are offline and download digital mapping files for easy export to your GPS. Join now and you can download some sample walks to see exactly how the service works.

If you join but decide not to subscribe you are very welcome to use the site to get ideas for walks and receive our informative monthly newsletter. As a non-subscriber you can buy individual walks for £1.50 using the ClickandBuy scheme.

Find a friendly place to stay

Search the Walkingworld Directory for a walker-friendly hotel, guest house or B&B, or for a local walking club. It's a great starting point if you fancy a weekend (or more) away. If you run a 'place to stay', pub or restaurant that welcomes walkers, or a walking club, you can have an entry for just the cost of a standard Walkingworld subscription.

Our Where to Go guide is designed for UK inhabitants and visitors alike. Wherever possible we aim to compile insider information from people who really know the area. In many cases the information here will be compiled by the very people who submit our walks. There's some information on overseas destinations too, much of it from the acclaimed Walk Europe guide.
